Wow!  I haven't updated in a while.  I know, I know.  You guys have been thinking the same thing.  It tends to be that way when you're at college and Xanga is blocked.  So yeah, not really my fault.

So what has been up with me?

Lots!!

I've been busy at college studying as an Elementary Education major (elementary music minor).  It has been rather challenging at times, but it's not too bad.  Nothing I can't handle with the Lord's help.  I've made all kinds of crazy-wonderful friends.  Some of them can't come back this next semester for one reason or another, but we're keeping in touch.  And a lot of them will be back later...they're just taking a semester or so off.  Jorie's having knee surgery, Emily's earning money...just stuff like that.

Howard just visited again.  We had a blast!!  He got here Sunday morning and left last night.  Guess what he gave me for Christmas?  A Navy hoodie and a gorgeous bracelet.  Yes, I said a Navy hoodie.  He's in the Navy now.  He hasn't actually started anything yet, but bootcamp is at the end of April.  We won't get to talk for 2 months, but I really think we can make it through that.  We've made it through a lot together in the last few months.  He is so good to me!

So that's basically what's up.  Hope to talk to you guys sometime soon.

Just so everyone knows....

I went to Corner Cup with my grandpa for breakfast, Hacienda with my family and my friend Ashley for lunch, and after church I'm supposed to go with some friends to Dairy Queen.

Where should I go out to eat for my birthday??

Saturday, August 05, 2006

The weddings went well today.  I was pretty nervous when I sang at Candace’s, but it wasn’t horrible or anything.  Juston (her new hubby) thanked me for doing it, and that made me feel really good.  I felt like it didn’t matter if it wasn’t perfect; they just wanted me to be a part of their wedding, which means a lot to me.  It was a great privilege!  Aaron and Vicky’s wedding went well, also.  There were a couple times when I had to awkwardly keep playing or stop in an odd spot, but overall it went quite nicely!  Many people said the music was beautiful, so again, I was just happy to be able to do something for the cute newlyweds!

Work is still crazy.  We’re supposed to do overtime AGAIN this week!!  If we do it all week, it will be 3 ½ weeks of overtime; and they said before, “It won’t last long.”  Yeah, so far, out of working there for 3 weeks, 2 ½ have been overtime!  I just keep trying to remind myself that it’s $45 extra dollars a week (I know, that’s not that much…which is why it’s hard to convince myself that it’s ok! lol).

I don’t remember if I mentioned this before, but I’m trying to do something special for my birthday.  I don’t want to mention it since I don’t know for sure yet.  It would be really, really nice, though!

Anyway, that’s basically it.  By the way, a special thank you to all the people who commented!!  I felt so special.  Oh, and Ben (fencerson), you’re right; it was my other friend Ben who left me comments.  And yes, we need to talk sometime.  It’s been forever.

Ok, this calls for a “shout-out”!!  It’s time to say something to everyone…I’m just in the mood right now.

Lydia- Just thought you should know that you are super sweet!  I hope we can room together at Maranatha, but we’ll see.  If not, at least we can still hang out!  I’m so excited about seeing you again.  Love ya!

Ben D.- It’s been nice getting to know you a little bit through Xanga (and Howard, of course!).  You seem pretty cool.  I’m looking forward to meeting you sometime!

Amy- I wish I was going to get to meet you this fall, but I guess I can wait another year.  We’ll keep in touch, though.  You are a very sweet girl and it seems like we’d have fun together.  Thanks for keeping up with me through Xanga.  It’s nice to have people interested in what I’m talking about!

Brandi- I haven’t talked to you in ages!  I miss being crazy with you and stuff.  You’re awesome!!  Can’t wait to see you!!!

Jared-  Don’t know if you ever get on here, but if you do…you made a wonderful sandwich for me the other day at Subway! lol  I’ve missed seeing you at church lately.  Where have you been?!  Talk to ya later.

Randy- As I’ve said to some of the others, it’s been forever!  I haven’t talked to you in a long time, but I hope things are going well for you!

Howard- You are just amazing.  That’s all there is to it.  I show you off all the time with the pictures I have of us.  (Yes, I did it again today!!)  I can’t wait to see you again so we can add memories to ones such as the drunk prairie dog, “extreme Christian dating,” and watching Sleepless In Seattle……

To the others- I’m thankful for all of you who have been my friend.  You guys are all awesome and I hope everyone is doing well!

Ok, I’m done now.  Bye, everyone!

Hey everyone!! Sorry it’s been so long. I didn’t even really think about it until Amy said she missed reading my posts. I never really get any comments except from her, but I guess it’s worth it to make one person happy!!

Things are crazy these days. I’ve been working from 5-2:30 every day in a hot factory. It’s icky. But it’s money and that first hour every day has actually been overtime. I’m supposed to go in at 6, but we’re doing mandatory overtime for 2 ½ weeks. Yeah, fun stuff. I’m kinda stressed right now because I’m in two weddings on Saturday and I do not feel prepared. In the first wedding I’m supposed to be singing a solo and playing for a trio to sing, but I have not practiced with my pianist or the trio at all. Then I’m also trying to get about 16 songs ready for the second wedding. Oh, and I don’t have a gift yet. Anyway, I’ve been desperately trying to get a hold of so many people, and none of them are available or call me back. It’s getting very frustrating!

Looking on the bright side…my birthday is coming up!! I don’t know what I’m going to do, though. I had something big in mind, but I’m not sure if it’s going to work out or not. We’ll have to see. I’m still working on that one.

Well, there’s not much else to say, folks (or should I just say “Amy”?). Work and weddings have pretty much taken over my life at the current time. Please pray for me on Saturday. I’ll most likely be rather nervous! Talk to ya later!

PS. Ok, I repent. Ben also leaves me comments. (Thank you, Ben!) And also, Howard reads these, too. He just doesn’t comment b/c he can’t get on Xanga.
